LYDIA OURAHMANE

5 Works

A book published on the occasion of Lydia Ourahmane’s solo exhibition, 5 Works, at the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation in Venice, curated by Polly Staple.

Marking Ourahmane’s inaugural publication, this book establishes a template for her future editorial projects. Central to this design is LL, a custom typeface developed by the artist in collaboration with graphic designer Lorenzo Mason.

The publication brings together the following elements: 282 photographs that Ourahmane shot during her residency in Venice while preparing 5 Works; an introduction to Ourahmane’s work and the exhibition by Staple; a conversation between Ourahmane and Staple, structured as a walking tour of the exhibition; installation views, by photographer Marco Cappelletti, sequenced in the order visitors encountered the works; the floorplan of the exhibition -  placed on the book’s cover – and the accompanying list of works, and an endnote by Nicoletta Fiorucci.
